Giving back a blind dog its freedom

Cranial Helmet for Blind Dog

Cranial Helmet for Blind Dog

Vita was a guide dog for the blind. He is retired and unfortunately has went blind himself – strangely enough with the same condition as his previous blind owner. His second owner came to me to see if we can make something for Vita. Vita had frequently injured his nose and damaged his teeth because he walked into things. When they took him out for the walk, he didn’t dare to walk and stood there trembling. It was really sad.

There are a lot of aids for blind people for their daily life. But what about a dog that has gone blind?

I went about making him a ‘cranial helmet’. How did it work out? Take a look at the video yourself.
